Common garden spider

Sometimes you do not have to travel far to observe nature in action. This garden spider was located just outside my bedroom window. These spiders are great fun to watch, especially for children. If you are a talented fly catcher it is possible to feed these spiders and watch their complex routines in catching and comsuming their prey.
